中国乙二醇行业年产能呈现逐年上升的趋势。2021年乙二醇产能超过2000万吨，同比上升32%，2022年12月份起，中国大陆地区乙二醇总产能为2519.5万吨，煤制乙二醇总产能为1045万吨，新增陕西榆林化学剩余120万吨/年的新产能。2023年国内乙二醇预计新投产300万吨产能装置，国外预计投产85万吨产能装置。中国乙二醇产能区域分布呈现“东多西少”的区域分布格局，华东地区产能分布占比超过50%，是乙二醇产能的主要分布区域，其次是华北地区，产能分布约为14%，而其余地区的产能均不超过10%。

The remaining 1.2 million tons/year of new production capacity of Shaanxi Yulin Chemical will be added. In 2023, it is expected that 3 million tons of ethylene glycol production capacity devices will be put into production in China, and 850000 tons of production capacity devices will be put into production abroad. The regional distribution of ethylene glycol production capacity in China presents a regional distribution pattern of "more in the east and less in the west". The production capacity distribution in East China accounts for over 50%, making it the main distribution area of ethylene glycol production capacity, followed by North China, with a production capacity distribution of about 14%, while the production capacity in other regions does not exceed 10%.
随着投产装置不断增多，乙二醇产量逐年提升。2021年乙二醇产量超过1200万吨，2022年1-12月累计产量为1327.8万吨，同比增加137.01万吨，同比增长11.51%，产量增加较为明显。2023年1月份乙二醇产量为121.68万吨，环比下降1.19%，同比增加13.54%。全球乙二醇产量主要集中在沙比克、陶氏、中石化等几大生产企业。
